Chamba Animal Care Center
Compassion in Action in the Himalayas of India at Ladakh’s Largest Dog Rescue
Compassion is Our Common Language
Opened in July 2024, Chamba Animal Care Center in Thiksey is dedicated to alleviating the suffering of stray animals in Ladakh, India. We are the largest animal care facility in the Land of High Passes. We currently have more than 850 dogs at our center, and our large animal pavilion for donkeys and bulls is under construction.
Our mission is to provide compassionate care to the voiceless, and to educate the community about humane animal treatment.
Our vision is a society where animals and humans coexist peacefully and compassionately, free from suffering and neglect.
